Louis Vuitton Speedy Sizes: 16 to 40 in cm

Speedy sizes are named for the bag's length in centimetres: Speedy 25 is about 25 cm long. Louis Vuitton currently sells the Monogram Speedy Bandoulière (with a detachable strap) in 20, 25, 30, 35 and 40, plus the Nano Speedy at 16 cm. Dimensions below are Louis Vuitton's own, from its official size selector.

Measurements are the maker’s published dimensions where available; “—” means we couldn’t find a reliable figure. Handmade and older pieces can vary by a few millimetres.

Checking the size on a pre-loved listing

  • The size number is the length; height and depth also grow with each size, so a 30 holds noticeably more than a 25.
  • Original Speedys without the Bandoulière strap use the same size names. We have not found official figures for older strapless versions, so ask the seller to measure.
  • Pharrell-era Speedy P9 bags use different proportions (for example the P9 Bandoulière 40 is 40 x 26 x 23 cm), so don't use this table for P9 listings.
  • Ask whether the strap, padlock and keys are included with a Bandoulière; missing straps are common and affect how you can carry it.
  • Ask about the vachetta handles and the zip pull for wear, and about any sticky lining on older pieces.

What does Bandoulière mean on a Speedy?

It means the bag comes with a detachable, adjustable shoulder strap, so it can be worn on the shoulder or crossbody as well as carried by hand.

Is the Speedy 25 or 30 better for everyday?

It depends what you carry. The 25 is 25 x 19 x 15 cm and the 30 is 30 x 21 x 17 cm on Louis Vuitton's figures. Lay your daily items out against those numbers before choosing.

Does a tablet fit in a Speedy?

Louis Vuitton says the Speedy Bandoulière 35 holds a 12-inch tablet. For smaller sizes, check the length against your device.

What is the Nano Speedy?

The smallest Speedy at 16 x 10 x 7.5 cm on Louis Vuitton's figures, closer to an accessory bag in capacity.
