Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Nuvinty handles your information. It reflects what our platform actually does — we are a price-comparison index, not a shop.

Who we are

Nuvinty is operated by Edge Digital Solutions LTD (digitaledge.uk), the data controller for the purposes of UK GDPR. You can reach us at [email protected].

What Nuvinty does — and doesn't

Nuvinty is an independent price-comparison index for new and pre-loved luxury. Importantly, Nuvinty:

  • does not directly sell products;
  • does not process product payments or store card details;
  • does not fulfil orders, ship goods, or handle returns;
  • links you to third-party retailers and sellers, where any purchase actually takes place;
  • may receive affiliate commission when you visit or buy through those links.

When you leave Nuvinty for a retailer, that retailer's own privacy policy governs what happens next.

Information we collect

  • Account information — if you register: your name, email address, a securely hashed password, and the products you save. You don't need an account to browse. When you sign up we email you a link to confirm the address is yours; we store only a hashed copy of that link's code (it expires after 24 hours), whether and when you confirmed, and when we last sent a link, so we can limit resends.
  • Usage & device data — via analytics: pages viewed, approximate location, device/browser, and how you arrived. We don't use this to identify you personally.
  • Outbound click data — when you click through to a retailer, our affiliate partners record that the click came from Nuvinty (so any commission is attributed correctly).

We do not collect payment or financial information, because we never take payment.

Cookies & similar technologies

  • Essential — a sign-in cookie to keep you logged in, and browser storage that remembers preferences (e.g. New vs Pre-loved, UK market).
  • Analytics — Google Analytics cookies to understand aggregate usage.
  • Affiliate — our affiliate partners may set cookies to attribute outbound clicks and purchases.

Categories of third-party services we use

We share the minimum data needed with the following categories of processors:

  • Hosting & infrastructure (Vercel) — serving the website.
  • Database (MongoDB Atlas) — storing account and saved-item data.
  • Email delivery (Resend) — sending account emails, such as the sign-up confirmation and password-reset links.
  • Analytics (Google Analytics) — aggregate usage measurement.
  • Affiliate networks (including AWIN, eBay Partner Network and Sovrn) — attributing outbound clicks and purchases.

We do not sell your personal data.

AI apps and API

Nuvinty’s price data is also available to AI assistants (for example ChatGPT and Claude) through our MCP server at nuvinty.com/api/mcp, and to developers through our price API. Both are free and read-only, and need no account or login, so we never ask for or receive your name, email or any other personal details through them. What you type into an assistant stays with that assistant; it sends us only the search it needs, such as a brand and model.

  • What we log — for each tool call: the tool used, the name and version of the AI app making the call (for example “ChatGPT”), whether it worked, how long it took, how many results it returned, and the time. We do not store your IP address, your search text or anything that identifies you.
  • Why — to see which tools are useful, keep the service reliable and plan improvements (our legitimate interests).
  • How long — tool-call logs are deleted automatically after 90 days.
  • Rate limiting — to stop any one caller overloading the service, our server counts requests per IP address for one minute, in memory only; the count is never written to storage.
  • Links to retailers — listing links from AI apps go through nuvinty.com/go and carry a tag naming the app (such as ref=chatgpt). If you follow one, we record the click as described under “Outbound click data” above, plus that tag: the product, the retailer, your country (from our host’s network data) and the time, never who you are. Clicks are kept for 13 months. The retailer’s own privacy policy applies once you arrive there.
  • Who receives it — only us and our hosting and database providers listed below. We don’t sell or share it.

Lawful bases

We rely on consent for analytics/affiliate cookies, contract to provide your account and saved items, and our legitimate interests to run, secure and improve the platform.

How long we keep it

We keep account data while your account is active and delete it on request or after a period of inactivity. Accounts whose email address is never confirmed may be deleted. Deleting an account also removes its saved items and any auction alerts for that email; we keep a brief internal record that the deletion happened (with the email masked, not in full) for one year. Analytics data is retained in aggregate per our analytics provider's settings. We keep data no longer than necessary for the purpose it was collected.

International transfers

Some of our processors (e.g. hosting, database and analytics providers) may process data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where that happens, transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards such as the UK's International Data Transfer Agreement or equivalent mechanisms.

Your UK GDPR rights

You have the right to access, correct, delete or port your data, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email [email protected]. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
