Tudor Black Bay (41mm)
M7941A1A0RU (2023) · M7941A1A0NU · also called Black Bay 41, BB41, Black Bay Master Chronometer
41mm steel, 13.6mm thick, 200m. Manufacture Calibre MT5602-U, COSC + METAS Master Chronometer, 70h. RU = burgundy bezel, NU = black bezel; five-link, three-link or rubber, all with T-fit.
Who it suits: The classic full-size Tudor diver for wrists that want 41mm presence.
Buying pre-owned: Check which bracelet is included (five-link costs more new than three-link); T-fit clasp should click through its positions cleanly. Earlier 79230-series Black Bays are a different, non-METAS generation. Tudor's five-year guarantee needs no registration and is transferable to a new owner while still in cover; Tudor suggests a service roughly every 10 years.
New: £3,970 UK list price (2026-10). See pre-owned Tudor listings →
Tudor Black Bay 58 (2026 Master Chronometer)
M7939A1A0NU (2026) · M7939A1A0RU (2025) · also called BB58, Black Bay Fifty-Eight, Black Bay 58 Burgundy
39mm steel, 11.7mm thick, 200m. Manufacture Calibre MT5400-U, COSC + METAS Master Chronometer, 65h. NU = black dial, RU = burgundy dial. Five-link, three-link 'rivet' bracelet or rubber, all with T-fit.
Who it suits: The default 'one Tudor' for most wrists: vintage-sized diver, now thinner and METAS-certified.
Buying pre-owned: The rubber strap is cut to size and comes in three lengths, so check it fits before buying second-hand. Make sure you are buying the 2026 M7939 (11.7mm, MT5400-U, 'Master Chronometer' on dial) and not the older 79030. Tudor's five-year guarantee needs no registration and is transferable to a new owner while still in cover; Tudor suggests a service roughly every 10 years.

Tudor and Rolex share a founder. 'The Tudor' was registered in 1926 on behalf of Rolex founder Hans Wilsdorf, who set up Montres TUDOR SA in 1946. The press usually calls it Rolex's sister brand. Tudor watches are now assembled at its own Manufacture in Le Locle.
Tudor vs Rolex: what do you get with Tudor?
Most Tudors now use Tudor Manufacture calibres, made with its movement maker Kenissi. Many newer models carry METAS Master Chronometer certification. New Tudors sold since 2020 come with a five-year transferable guarantee with no registration needed. Tudor's UK list prices start at £1,870 (1926) and are mostly below £5,000 for steel models.
Which Tudor should I buy first?
For most people it is the Black Bay 58 (from £3,870), a 39mm all-rounder. On a tighter budget, the Royal 30mm (£2,540) and Ranger 36 (£2,750 on fabric) are the cheapest models with Tudor Manufacture calibres. The 1926 (from £1,870) uses a non-Manufacture calibre. Smaller wrists should try the 37mm Black Bay 54 (from £3,490).
