Stock is donated and changes every day, so nothing on this page promises a brand or a piece. Nuvinty is a price-comparison site with no link to these charities; nobody pays to be listed.

How we chose these shops

A shop is listed only if one of these is true, and we link the evidence on every entry:

  • the charity's own page for the shop (or its own page about that shop) mentions designer, high-end or boutique stock; or
  • a major publication named the shop for designer finds, cited as, for example, “Named by Vogue (May 2025)”.

Addresses, postcodes and opening hours come only from the charity's own shop page, on the date shown on each entry. If the page doesn't give hours, we tell you to check there rather than guess. We re-check every shop on the 1st of the month and remove any the charity says have closed. Spotted something out of date? Tell us.

Tips for finding designer pieces

  • Go often. Donations are sorted and put out through the week, so one visit tells you little.
  • Ask where designer pieces are kept. Some shops put them on a separate rail, in a cabinet or behind the counter.
  • Ask the staff when new stock usually goes out. It varies by shop and by day.
  • Try on, and check the lining, seams, zips and hardware in good light. Charity shop returns are the charity's own terms, so ask before you pay.
  • Know the going rate. Compare the asking price with the same piece pre-loved on our pre-loved bags pages before you decide.

Checking a designer piece is genuine

Charity shops don't usually authenticate designer donations, and a price label is not a guarantee. Check the piece yourself: the labels and stitching, the hardware and its engraving, and for bags the heat stamp, date code or serial. Our checklist for avoiding fakes covers what to look at before you pay, and the authentication checklist goes brand by brand. It helps you spot a bad fake; it is not an authentication.

Common questions

Where are the designer charity shops in London?

Mostly in the west and north-west of central London: Chelsea & King's Road, Kensington & Knightsbridge, Marylebone, Notting Hill & Portobello, Primrose Hill & Hampstead, Fulham, Pimlico. This guide lists 24 shops run by 8 charities, each with its address and opening hours from the charity's own page.

Do London charity shops sell designer bags and clothes?

Some do, when they are donated. Stock is given by the public and changes every day, so no charity shop can promise a particular brand or piece. The shops here are listed because the charity's own page mentions designer or high-end stock, or a major publication named them for designer finds.

Are designer items in charity shops genuine?

Don't assume so. Charity shops don't usually authenticate designer donations, and a shop's price label is not a guarantee. Check the piece yourself before you pay, ask what happens if it turns out not to be genuine, and keep the receipt.

When should I visit?

Visit often rather than once. Stock is sorted and put out as it is donated, so what is on the rail changes from day to day. Ask the staff when new stock usually goes out; it varies by shop.

Are the opening hours up to date?

Every address and set of opening hours on this page was read on the charity's own shop page on the date shown (17 Oct 2026 at the latest), and we re-check them on the 1st of every month. Where the charity's page doesn't give hours, we say so rather than guess. Hours change on bank holidays, so check before a special trip.
