Its oversized diamond quilting, chunky woven chain and part-gold, part-silver, part-ruthenium hardware make it instantly recognisable. Why the 19 is iconic
Named after the year of its release, the Chanel 19 was conceived as a softer, more casual everyday bag with a puffy quilt and a lightweight, slouchy body. It uniquely combines three hardware finishes on one bag, a deliberate signature that sets it apart from every other Chanel flap.

Is the Chanel 19 a good investment compared with the Classic Flap?
It holds value well and, because Chanel retail prices have risen sharply, a good pre-owned example can be strong value; however the Classic Flap remains the stronger long-term store of value.
What leather is the Chanel 19 made from?
Most are lambskin or goatskin, giving the puffy, quilted look; goatskin is a little more hard-wearing and holds its shape better than delicate lambskin.
Which size is most practical for everyday use?
The normal (medium) size is the most popular all-rounder, comfortably holding a phone, cardholder and essentials while still worn cross-body.
