What to check when buying a pre-owned Rolex
- Match the reference and the serial. The reference (for example 126610LN) identifies the model; the serial dates it. On modern watches the serial is engraved on the inner bezel ring, and both should agree with the warranty card.

- Box and papers matter. A full set with the original warranty card is the single biggest factor in resale value after the reference itself.
